Our Fabric
What makes bamboo such a sustainable material?
It depletes little other resources to be grown and harvested
Bamboo grows fast: it can grow a whole yard within just one year and reaches full maturity within 4 years. Better yet, it’s incredibly resilient. Unlike other plants who require a very specific regimen of sunlight, water, and minerals, bamboo grows in almost any condition and requires very little water (and can even survive on waste-water) to grow.
It replenishes itself quickly and with low effort
Not only does bamboo grow quickly, but it also reseeds itself. Bamboo creates a huge network of roots in the soil and this is what creates new sprouts. That means we can skip the time-consuming and petroleum-heavy reseeding process entirely.
It helps convert greenhouse gases into oxygen
Not only can it survive on waste-water (and actually purify it), it also transforms toxic greenhouse gases back into oxygen, helping clean our air and reduce pollution.
It’s naturally resistant to pests
Bamboo is surprisingly resistant to many insects and parasites which means it doesn’t need chemical pesticides to grow. As for the few bugs that could attack it, the majority of those can be treated through chemical-free soap solutions, to boot.
How does bamboo become fabric?
The magic happens when the superior quality bamboo is crushed into a pulp and dissolved in a viscose liquid. This solution is then squeezed through tiny micro-openings which creates long threads.

What makes bamboo viscose so great?
First and foremost, the threads that are created from this process have some pretty amazing properties. They’re anti-bacterial and anti-UV, making them a great choice for people who may have health issues. They’re also breathable, which helps control temperature. When you’re warm, they wick away moisture thanks to the air that is allowed to circulate. When you’re cold, the air forms an insulating barrier, which maintains your body temperature.
The fibers are also very durable because the threads are very long and have fewer weak points than other natural fibers, such as cotton. Finally, they are so soft! Almost as much as some incredibly luxurious natural fibers like silk and cashmere, but for a fraction of the cost!
